dc.description.abstractResumo: O caráter relevante desta proposição pauta-se pela existência de discursos quase sempre negativistas entre as vozes críticas que se ocuparam de A Bagaceira Ao abordarem esse romance, os críticos parecem permanecer distantes da "realidade" da obra, ficando longe de uma abordagem plausível com a importância histórico-literária da mesma Termos como: romance da seca, linguagem direta, realismo primário, alta dose de pitoresco, personagens sem humanidade, personagens divididos enormemente entre bons e maus etc, são clichês que revelam a leitura que se vem fazendo do romance A consideração de que ler A Bagaceira implica o confronto com a história e com a crítica literárias, portanto, alicerça-se na certeza da necessidade de revisão da compreensão acima referida Porque existem afirmações que, de tão repetidas, tomam face de verdades, precisando ser refutadas para que haja uma diferenciada compreensão do romance Admitindo esta necessidade, o presente estudo terá como direção empreender uma leitura das leituras e, nessa revisão da crítica, reler o denominado romance marco da geração de trinta Até que ponto A Bagaceira é, verdadeiramente, o romance da seca? Como se aproxima ou se distancia de vinte e dois e do naturalismo? Como se formam as antíteses entre Brejo X Sertão e Natureza X Estrutura social? A questão social supera a questão regional na obra? Como a linguagem utilizada corrobora para o objetivo final do romance? Estas serão algumas questões que revisitar-se-á na crítica e na obra, tendo por tese a idéia de que José Américo de Almeida, assim como ocorreu a Monteiro Lobato, sentiu o peso de fazer-se menos ousado, lingüisticamente falando, do que seus antecessores da semana de arte moderna (o que não faz seu romance naturalista), bem como sofreu as conseqüências do rótulo de um romance da seca, capaz de encobrir um romance que soube exaltar o brejo como aspecto natural, mas que soube, também, revelar a estrutura social errante que massacra "retirantes, naufragados ou refugiados na bagaceira, na terra fresca e úmida, estranha e quase adversa para eles, que é o brejo" (QUEIROZ, 1978, p16) Um romance além do regional, brasileiro Desde a questão temática ao problema da linguagem, trilhando a localização do livro no mapa histórico-literário brasileiro, quase tudo se conserva em aberto e passível de debates, motivo gerador da proposta de um estudo de tom prioritariamente contestatório Intui -se uma leitura que desarticule preconceitos repetidos, que discuta o herói problemático, a estrutura antitética da obra, que não deixe o homem político de José Américo de Almeida fazer o leitor esquecer o texto, regressando a um biografismo infecundo e retrógradopt_BR
dc.description.abstractother1Abstract: The relevant aim of this proposition is related to the existence of speeches nearly always negative among the critic voices that studied A bagaceira When analyzing this novel, the critics seem to be distant from the reality of the book, being far off a plausible approach concerning its historical-literary importance Words such as: novel of the drought, direct language, primary realism, high dose of picturesque, characters without humanity, characters divided into good and bad, and etc, are clichés that reveal the reading of the book that has been done The consideration that reading A bagaceira implies the confrontation with history and literary criticism, thus, is based on the certainty of the necessity of revision of the comprehension mentioned above Since there are affirmations that, after being repeated so many times, took the face of truth, it is necessary to refute them in order to provide a different comprehension of the novel Admitting this need, the present study will provide a reading of the readings and, in that revision of the criticism, it will reread the called mark novel of the generation of the thirtiesTo what extent can we consider A bagaceira the novel of the drought? How does it come close to or distance from the Literary Movement of Twenty-Two and Naturalism? How are the antitheses between Lowlands X Backlands and Nature X Social Structure built? Does the social matter surpass the regional matter in the book? How does de language used in the novel corroborate its final objective? These are some of the questions that will be searched in the criticisms and in the book, having as thesis the idea that José Américo de Almeida, like what happened to Monteiro Lobato, was criticized for being less audacious, linguistically speaking, than his predecessors in the Week of Modern Art (what makes his novel not naturalistic), and also suffered because his work was labeled as a novel of the drought, capable of covering up a novel that knew how to exalt the lowlands as a natural aspect, but knew, as well, to reveal the wandering social structure that massacres "migrants, castaways or refugees in the bagaceira, in the fresh and wet land, strange and almost adverse for them, which is the lowlands" (QUEIROZ, 1978, p 16) A novel that is beyond the regional, BrazilianFrom the thematic question to the problem of the language, treading the location of the book in the Brazilian literary historical map, almost everything has been left open and susceptible to discussion, which enables the proposal of a study of contentious tone The purpose of this study is to provide a reading that disarticulates repeated prejudices, that discusses the problematic hero and the antithetical structure of the novel, that does not leave the political man of José Américo de Almeida make his reader forget the text, returning to a non fecund and retrograde biographism1pt_BR
