dc.description.abstractEsta dissertação objetiva identificar a Língua Talian, Italiana e, ao mesmo tempo, a Língua Portuguesa que convivem nas cartas dos imigrantes. Os únicos veículos de comunicação por escrito nos séculos XVIII e XIX eram as cartas e os telegramas, utilizadas pelas famílias vindas de diversas localizações da Itália, destinados ou remetidos a parentes, interligando os brasileiros e os italianos. Pesquisadores como Frosi (2010), Luzzatto (2015), Stoltz (2018), Castilho (2019, 2021), Dal Castel; Loregian-Penkal e Tonus (2021); Loregian-Penkal; Dal Castel e Canzi (2023), contribuem para o estudo da história do português e os estudos linguísticos voltados para o Talian, especificamente da colonização da região Nordeste do Rio Grande do Sul. O Talian foi/é foco de obras literárias, dicionários, de filmes, de projetos, de festividades. A hipótese da pesquisa sustenta-se em questões como a análise do léxico do Talian, com histórico da língua, a partir da Sociolinguística Histórica, pela análise do léxico do Talian, com aspectos reflexivos do code-switching, pela tradução das primeiras cinco cartas do imigrante italiano Paolo Rossato e, por último, a história e o significado que a Língua Talian tem, em relação ao passado, presente e futuro. Como resultado dessa investigação, embora haja evidências equivalentes entre o Talian e o Italiano, não se pode afirmar que as cartas eram escritas em Talian, porque não houve tempo hábil para assimilação desta língua, constituída entre o Brasil e os descendentes de imigrantes italianos, falantes das diversas variedades do Norte da Itália, observada nos respectivos fac-símiles
dc.description.abstractother1This dissertation aims to identify the Talian language, Italian, and, at the same time, the Portuguese language as they coexist in the letters of immigrants. The only written means of communication in the 18th and 19th centuries were letters and telegrams, used by families from different regions of Italy and addressed or sent to relatives, thus connecting Brazilians and Italians. Researchers such as Frosi (2010), Luzzatto (2015), Stoltz (2018), Castilho (2019, 2021), Dal Castel, Loregian-Penkal and Tonus (2021), and Loregian-Penkal, Dal Castel and Canzi (2023) contribute to the study of the history of Portuguese and to linguistic studies focused on Talian, specifically regarding the colonization of the northeastern region of Rio Grande do Sul. Talian has been and continues to be the focus of literary works, dictionaries, films, projects, and festivities. The research hypothesis is based on issues such as the analysis of the Talian lexicon, including the history of the language from the perspective of Historical Sociolinguistics; the analysis of the Talian lexicon with reflective aspects of code-switching; the translation of the first five letters written by the Italian immigrant Paolo Rossato; and, finally, the history and meaning that the Talian language holds in relation to the past, present, and future. As a result of this investigation, although there is equivalent evidence between Talian and Italian, it cannot be stated that the letters were written in Talian, since there was not sufficient time for the assimilation of this language, which was formed in Brazil among the descendants of Italian immigrants, speakers of various Northern Italian varieties, as observed in the respective facsimiles
