dc.description.abstractEste trabalho tem como objetivo analisar os filmes S. Bernardo (1972) e Eles Não Usam Black-tie (1981), dirigidos por Leon Hirszman. Em ambos os casos, tratam-se de adaptações de obras já existentes, um romance literário e uma peça teatral. Os filmes foram produzidos durante a ditadura militar no Brasil, mas em momentos distintos do regime: um no auge da repressão e outro no início da redemocratização. Ao analisarmos as características semelhantes e as diferenças em ambos os filmes procuraremos compreender como cada um deles dialoga com seu tempo presente específico, através de mudanças no material original ou em escolhas estéticas. Procuraremos demostrar também como os filmes de Leon Hirszman podem ser interpretados em diferentes contextos e como eles se encaixam na trajetória do cinema brasileiro. Tentaremos enxergar nos respectivos filmes representações da ditadura em momentos distintos e também os discutir em diálogo com as obras que os inspiraram. Em S. Bernardo, o roteiro é bem fiel ao livro e as representações da ditadura são mais alegóricas, enquanto em Eles Não Usam Black-tie as referências ao autoritarismo são mais explícitas e o roteiro faz uma série de modificações em relação à peça. Este trabalho tenta entender esse processo de adaptação das obras e de que maneira elas dialogam com a história do próprio país.
dc.description.abstractother1The following work has as its main goal to analyze the movies S. Bernardo (1972) and They Don’t Wear Black-tie (1981), directed by Leon Hirszman. In both cases, we are dealing with adaptations, one literary and another from a stage play. The movies were produced during the Brazilian military dictatorship, but in different moments of the regime: the first one in the peak of the repression and the second one during the beginning of the re-democratization. By analyzing the similarities e differences between both films, we search to understand how each one of them reflects its present time in History, not only by the changes from the literary material, but also from its aesthetic choices. We will try to demonstrate how the movies of Leon Hirszman can be interpreted in different contexts and how they can be understood on the history of Brazilian cinema in general. We try to see in each movie representations of the dictatorship in different moments of its authoritarianism and also different points of dialogue with the original literary material. In S. Bernardo the script is pretty much similar the book and the representations of the dictatorship is mild and allegorical, but in They Don’t Wear Black-tie the references are much more explicit and the script chances a lot from the original stage play. This work will try to understand this process of adaptation of the literary material and also how the movies dialogue with the history of its own country.
