dc.description.abstractResumo: Nos últimos 1 anos foi registrado no Brasil um aumento de 775% no consumo do cloridrato de metilfenidato, substância prescrita no tratamento do TDAH Destaca-se que a maioria dos encaminhamentos de crianças para os serviços de saúde, parte da escola Considerando que o aumento no consumo de medicamento psicoativo por crianças e adolescentes é uma ocorrência importante e que deve ser discutida, objetivou-se investigar a desatenção e a hiperatividade manifestas por crianças e adolescentes no âmbito escolar por meio da compreensão de aspectos sociais e culturais que possam estar contribuindo na incidência de tais comportamentos e, portanto, no aumento de diagnósticos de TDAH Indagou-se se os elementos presentes na sociedade, tal como se configura, têm contribuído para a medicalização da aprendizagem escolar A hipótese foi que a alta incidência no diagnóstico do TDAH e, por conseguinte, do aumento no consumo de metilfenidato, relaciona-se com fatores sociais e culturais, e não apenas a fatores orgânicos e individuais Realizou-se pesquisa bibliográfica fundamentada em autores como Marx e Alves que auxiliaram no delineamento histórico do percurso do trabalho na constituição da cultura e da sociedade capitalista e suas implicações na subjetividade humana e na organização da educação formal; Adorno, Horkheimer, Marcuse e Benjamin, fundamentaram os conceitos como os de emancipação, adaptação, vivência, experiência, progresso e liberdade Foram coletados dados na plataforma online Scielo utilizando o descritor TDAH para encontrar artigos publicados entre os anos de 26 a 217 que se relacionassem a temática deste trabalho Os dados extraídos dos artigos pesquisados foram analisados à luz dos textos de estudiosos da Teoria Crítica da Sociedade como Crochík, Moura e Galuch A hipótese inicial de que para além das questões que envolvem a medicina e a psicologia, existem aspectos inerentes à sociedade e à cultura que precisam ser compreendidos afim de serem superados foi confirmada pelas análises empreendidaspt_BR
