dc.description.abstractother1Abstract: This dissertation, within the field of History of Education, aimed at understanding the process of municipal actions towards the regulation of Education in the city of Londrina-PR, between the years of 1934 to 196 To that end, the main historical sources were City Hall and Executive documents that, added to supplementary documents, supplied us with significant elements in order to verify the municipality actions regarding the structuring of the city that emancipated in 1934 and became represented by a Legislative Branch in 1936 The analytical perspective had as its threshold the discussion that Magalhães (24) proposes on Pedagogical Municipality and the phenomenon of municipalism, the latter being the one that most approximates to the context of the city of Londrina This research’s fundamental question was what the acts of the Legislative House of Londrina, in dialogue with other local legislations, represent to analyze the municipal actions in the name of Education and of Londrina’s schools, facing an autonomy contradictorily realized as "authorized" This formulation observes the municipal co-responsibility in the national-local relationship, in generated tensions, in political actions, and in the reflection produced in the structure that constituted the school in order to integrate its subjects Thus, our findings highlight a history of Education, specifically a history of schooling in the city of Londrina, sensitive to the socio-cultural process present in its urban ethos as well as its rural context, the latter minimally mentioned in official documents however being the reality of most schools in the period Consequently, as a result, we have determined the social and political fabric involved in the promotion of education, as well as the proper conditions to present a discussion about the municipalism phenomenon through which Londrina promoted regulatory actions regarding schooling in its territory, collaborating with investigations concerning municipal autonomypt_BR
