dc.description.abstractNesta dissertação temos como objetivo explorar as temáticas de identidade e memória a partir do uso da fotografia, tendo como foco o município de Guaraci-PR, com base no trabalho do fotógrafo Manoel Vieira de Lima. O fotógrafo foi responsável por registrar a evolução do município através de suas fotografias, capturando imagens estruturais como construções e pontes, que trataremos no primeiro capítulo desta produção, bem como cenas do cotidiano, como lojas e o cinema da cidade, analisadas no segundo capítulo. Além disso, suas fotografias incluíam retratos de famílias e indivíduos, que constituem importantes registros da história social e cultural de Guaraci, questão que verificaremos no terceiro capítulo. Com o referêncial teórico voltado para a análise de fotografias desde a História Social, tendo como cerne a análise teórica referente à memória, iremos analisar como essas representações fotograficas contribuem para a construção de um ideal de progresso e da memória coletiva do município, explorando o papel da imagem fotográfica como documento histórico e como forma de expressão artística. Além disso, buscaremos, como o auxílio da história oral, visualizar o trabalho do fotógrafo no imaginário local, entendendo a representatividade do indivíduo e por qual motivo a sua função se funde ao entendimento de evolução da localidade.
dc.description.abstractother1In this dissertation we aim to explore the themes of identity and memory from the use of photography, focusing on the municipality of Guaraci-PR, based on the work of the photographer Manoel Vieira de Lima. The photographer was responsible for registering the evolution of the town through his photographs, capturing structural images such as buildings and bridges, which we will deal with in the first chapter of this production, as well as everyday scenes, such as stores and the town's cinema, analyzed in the second chapter. Besides this, his photographs included portraits of families and individuals, which constitute important records of Guaraci's social and cultural history, a matter that we will verify in the third chapter. With the theoretical reference turned to the analysis of photographs from Social History, having as its core the theoretical analysis referring to memory, we will analyze how these photographic representations contribute to the construction of an ideal of progress and of the collective memory of the municipality, exploring the role of the photographic image as a historical document and as a form of artistic expression. Furthermore, we will seek, with the help of oral history, to visualize the photographer's work in the local imaginary, understanding the individual's representativeness and why his function merges with the understanding of the locality's evolution.
