| dc.description.abstractother1 | Thinking on the formative processes of initial teacher education in Geography is a constant need, due to social change, the role of teaching, and geographical knowledge itself in each time and place. Currently, education has been traversed by processes of degradation, distancing between university and school, theoretical-practical dichotomies, and a set of material and symbolic conditions that weaken the constitution of the teaching being. These elements produce a fragmented training, insensitive to the Other and insufficient to respond to the ethical, social, and educational complexities of the present. Given this scenario, this thesis understands that an education focused on alterity depends on the spaces constructed between university and school, in which school practices and teacher training are articulated and mutually strengthened. This understanding allows us to affirm that situated formative experiences – in contexts of differentiated curriculum and contextualized education – offer concrete possibilities for constructing a sensitive, responsible, and committed teaching being, aligned with an ethics of encounter. Emmanuel Levinas's ethics of alterity and Paulo Freire's dialogicity offer crucial foundations for the education of geography teachers, enabling an education anchored in encounter, listening, and responsibility for the Other, as ways to face the challenges of initial teacher training. In this sense, the objective of this thesis is to understand how Levinasian alterity and Freirean dialogicity present themselves as potentialities in the education of geography teachers, based on the experience of the State University of Londrina (UEL), which has adopted contextualized education practices and experiences in different spaces and teaching modalities in its internship courses. The research adopts a qualitative, phenomenological approach and takes as its field the Teaching Experience Internship in Geography II, of the geography course at UEL. This internship is understood as a formative space capable of revealing how experiences in differentiated educational contexts can contribute to an ethical and dialogical training. The phenomenological interpretation of the materials revealed that experiences that provoke estrangement and displacement of the self constitute avenues for opening up to encounters with the Other. These experiences establish themselves as ethical and formative foundations, reinforcing the need for initial education grounded in ethical radicalism and dialogue, towards a sensitive, humane, and committed education | |
